Owl Nest Art explores the intersection of visionary symbolism and intuitive expression.

For me, visionary art begins with curiosity and presence. Rather than starting from a fixed concept, each painting unfolds through a process of deep listening, allowing imagery, color, and form to emerge with a life of their own. In this way, I see myself less as someone imposing an image and more as a humble steward of something revealing itself through the work.
This is more than painting. It is a living process... an alchemy that mirrors my own growth and exploration through life.
Alongside original works and prints for sale below, I collaborate with a small number of collectors to develop distinct and personally meaningful commissioned pieces. These paintings unfold through the same intuitive process, allowing a shared vision to take shape while preserving the integrity and spirit of the work.

Sovereign Love
2025. 24x40 inches, acrylic on canvas with ash, tears, snake skin and owl feathers.
This painting has evolved drastically over decades. In its first layers it was originally someone else's painting altogether... a wedding gift for a dear friend of mine, painted by her sister (note the tan branches in the upper left corner and little star on the left edge). The original design was of two human-shaped figures side by side as the trunk of a tree, raising their arms/branches. The essence of the painting was once to convey divine union and two souls merging as ONE. It is/was truly a beautiful and heartfelt offering and I hold deep reverence for this foundation.

Years later, after her marriage ended, my friend was ready to give this painting away to someone who would appreciate it. The symbolism met me in that phase of my life and I embraced the image as an inspiration. I’ve sat with this painting as a deep reflection as I redefined of what it means to be in love and sovereign at the same time… I've offered it my intentions, tears, grief, nostalgia, and authenticity. There were times the painting sat hiding away in the corner facing the wall and other times I would light a candle and commune with its essence for hours or days before making a minor addition. Layer by layer, the painting has shifted and supported an evolution of my personal narratives.

This final painting is a prayer that extends farther than my personal aspirations. It is an expression of a sacred reminder that at the end of all our stories and expectations we are still sovereign souls on our own journeys of exploration and growth. The lesson is that I certainly believe two beings can indeed stand firmly on their own foundations.... and still share (and expand) the light and love of life.
