Visionary Art
Owl Nest Art explores the intersection of visionary symbolism and intuitive expression.
Rather than starting from a fixed concept, each painting unfolds through a process of deep listening to allow imagery, color, and form to emerge as a life of its own. In this way, the work is a process of universal insights revealing itself.

"This is more than simply painting pretty images. It is an alchemical and living journey that mirrors my own growth and exploration through life."

Sovereign Love
2025. 24x40 inches, acrylic on canvas with ash, tears, snake skin and owl feathers.

This painting has evolved over decades. In its first layers it was originally someone else's painting altogether... a wedding gift for a dear friend of mine, painted by her sister (note the tan branches in the upper left corner and little star on the left edge). The original design was of two human-shaped figures side by side as the trunk of a tree, raising their arms/branches. The former essence was to convey divine union and two souls merging as ONE. It is/was a beautiful and heartfelt offering and I hold deep reverence for this foundation.

Years later, following the end of my friend’s marriage, she was ready to give this painting away to someone who would appreciate it. The symbolism met me in that phase of my life and I embraced the inspiration. I’ve sat with this painting as a deep reflection as I redefined what it means to cultivate a loving relationship and sovereignty at the same time… I offered it my intentions, tears, grief, nostalgia, and authenticity for over 2 years. Layer by layer, the painting shifted and supported an evolution of my personal narratives.

This painting is a prayer… an expression of a sacred reminder that at the end of all our stories and expectations of “being in love” we are still sovereign souls on our own journeys of exploration and growth. The lesson is that I certainly believe two beings can indeed stand firmly on their own foundations.... and still share (and expand) the light and love of life.

Blessings to you. Keep your heart open, no matter what. Let the cracks in your heart expand your capacity for love.
Ecstatic Elements
2024. 44x44 inches, acrylic on wood with snake skin, deer fur, porcupine quills, garnets, and ash.
"Ecstatic Elements" was a 1.5-year process of profound inner exploration. When I first started the painting, I remember nearly closing my eyes with and just letting my body move sporadically and intuitively. Before long, the circle gained shape and so did the four quadrants… in time, I would learn that the circle was a reflection of the wheel of life and the subtle elements that make up all the pieces of duality… Fire, Earth, Air, Water, and subtle Ether tying it all together. Each area is distinct yet connected to the rest.

This painting was a constant source of consistency while so much continued to change externally. I actually worked on this in FIVE different homes as I bounced around to find my footing in life. I walked the path fearlessly alongside this painting as I remembered the interconnectedness of the elements is the same as my own connection and roots within all of nature.

The painting debuted at my “Ecstatic Elements” DJ set on April 9th, 2024, which goes hand-in-hand with the theme and essence of this epic journey through life.

Poetic Presence
2025. 14x14 inches, acrylic on canvas

Poetic Presence was an inspirational theme for a year. I took an intention-setting workshop in January 2025 with the visionary artist, Ishka Lha. This included reflections and sketching a mandala to represent all areas of The Wellness Wheel: Occupational, Social, Intellectual, Physical, Spiritual, Environmental, Financial, and Emotional.

The exercise was designed to be sketched on a piece of paper with the names of each category, plus affirmations and specific intentions written out for each. Instead, I painted the mandala so I could visually represent the essence of the prayers and intentions. This was a powerful and useful tool that served through a transformative year. In December 2025, I burned the painting with gratitude.
